Jolo Santos’ Bio

Jolo is the voice behind avlack’s aesthetic exploration. Hailing from Manila Philippines, a serious coffee drinker, an art and design fog who loves simplicity but contradicts the stereotype. Jolo loves Lomo’s, iPod/Music and pizzas. After having his freelance side job track from an Avant-Garde’s Design Group (Freeze Fire Studio as a web designer), he’s now pursuing his passion as a Graphic Designer under a corporate domain company.

Short Interview with Jolo Santos

Question: What is the concept behind your design?

Answer: The concept was to create a minimal composition with a simple and usable layout for shopify users, extracting all unneccesary elements and to help the product be visible as possible and clear for the shop customers, I used tangerine as the predominant color scheme for my theme because it evokes a feeling of invigoration from anyone who views it. It’s vibrant but not too loud.

Question: What kinds of freelance work do you do?

Answer: I’ve been freelancing both with Print and Web Design, and occasionally doing some Interactive projects.

Question: What’s your day-job?

Answer: I am working as a Web/Graphic Designer under a Corporate Domain Merchandising Company here in the Philippines.
